In 2017, Sub-Saharan Africa and Southern Asia accounted for approximately 86% of maternal deaths. Globally, maternal mortality rates are most pronounced in conflict-affected regions in Africa and Asia.

After assessing your fit through the Organizational Readiness Tool, you must register for the Maternal & Infant Health Award by Thursday, June 2, 2022 at 5:00 PM U.S. Pacific Time.
Once you’ve registered for the Maternal & Infant Health Award, complete and submit your application no later than Thursday, June 30, 2022 at 5:00 PM U.S. Pacific Time.
Valid applications will be scored by five fellow applicants, then a subset of top-scoring submissions will be scored by five Evaluation Panel expert reviewers. Scores are normalized to ensure fairness.
Informed by Evaluation Panel results, we review top-scoring submissions to select up to five Finalists who strengthen their proposals for an opportunity to receive the Maternal & Infant Health Award.
